History

Originally conceived as the Workers' Compensation Services (WCS) division of Whittall Management Group (WMG) in 1996, ERNWest was formed in response to Washington State employers' frustration with the state's monopolistic workers compensation system. 

From 1996 to 1998, WCS was in an incubation stage until July 1999 when it was spun off with four employees. ERNWest is proud to continue to employ many of the original employees.

ERNWest's success is the result of the people who work for ERNWest and our collective knowledge of what a successful workers compensation program requires.  In 2007 ERNWest has grown to:

• Employ 25 excellent people
  
  
• Work with over 1,500 companies
  
  
• Work out of three office locations (Federal Way, Olympia, and Spokane)
  
  
• Manage approximately $60 million in annual workers compensation premium
  
  
• Provide group management services for nine (9) retrospective rating groups and a number of individual companies
  
  
• Groups under ERNWest's management last year averaged almost double the state average group refund 32% versus 17%.
