Everyone’s Favorite: OSHA 300 Recordkeeping Logs
Yes, it is that time of year again and everyone’s favorite project to begin in the new year – OSHA 300 Recordkeeping. Employers with 11 or more employees at any time during the year are required to maintain a log of injury and illnesses – the OSHA 300. Also, the OSHA 300A Summary Report is required to be posted where employees can see, from February 1 through April 30 each year.
Large employers, and some smaller employers* in certain industries, are required to electronically report the information from their 300A Summary Report to OSHA. The login requirement for that has changed. Employers must now link their Injury Tracking Application (ITA) account to a login.gov account with the same email address. This will be required for electronic reporting in 2023.
*Small employers and low-risk businesses may be exempt from these requirements if: (1) They have 10 or fewer employees at all times during the previous calendar year at all of their combined business locations. (2) The business is included on the industry exemption list in Table 1 under WAC 296-27-00105.
